Batting first Lancaster started well with Danny Welbourne (26) and Atkinson (15), this was continued by Moorby (21).

It was the introduction of Uzair Shah into the attack which enabled Morecambe to regain some control, in his four over spell he accounted for the top four of Lancaster’s batting order whilst conceding just 20 runs.

Lee Marshall and Billy Swarbrick (19) ensured Lancaster could set a total that would give them an opportunity for victory. Marshall batted well for his final total of 48 not out off just 27 balls as the Lancaster innings closed on 140-6 off their 20 overs.

In reply Morecambe started steadily losing Steve Fisher and Barry Smith in the process. Derham soon departed for 20 leaving Morecambe 40-3 after eight overs. Michael Fisher with Joe Singleton’s assistance started to increase the momentum. Lancaster’s lack of a fifth bowler cost them dear as Fisher took advantage adding 44 runs in three overs.

With runs coming steadily, despite the fading light and the late loss of Singleton for 22, victory came with 10 balls to spare.

Fisher finished on 66 not out as he managed the run chase to perfection.
