Maw of the same for Torrisholme

Matt Jackson chose to bat first and Andy Butler (30) and Adam Bee (8) started well until Bee was run out.

Chris Parry joined Butler and the pair took Torrisholme to a steady 95-1 from 30 overs.

It took the the super slow bowling of Nick O’Malley (3-52) to get the next wicket and from here Torrisholme had a wobble.

Dan Woods (6), Ferguson (1), Clarke (1) and Jordan (1) tried to score quickly and didn’t stay with Parry.

It took Ben Pye (10no) to support Parry who passed 50 and then pushed on to 84 not out and Torrisholme meandered to 165-6 from their 45.

From such a good platform, Torrisholme didn’t push on, but Mawdesley needed to score more runs then any other side has against Torrisholme this season to win the game.

Mawdesley’s reply started in the worst possible fashion when Matt Jackson (5-24) had Dunn (0) and Girbirdi (0) dismissed in the first over, both caught by Pye.

When Neil Jordan (1-27) trapped Parr (7) lbw Mawdesley were in major trouble at 7-3 from the first four overs.

Jackson added Lamarinel (0) to his tally, caught by Butler, and after eight overs had figures of 4-1.

Graham Lee (3-34) removed Matt Watkinson for a dogged (19) and Bowyer (20) before Marsden (3) became Jackson’s fifth wicket, caught again by Pye.

It took a composed 28 from young Nathan Trengrove to dribble Mawdesley to respectability. It was short lived though as Lee trapped him LBW and Dan Woods (13-1) combined with young Ritchie Kingham to wrap up the Mawdesley innings and give Torrsholme another win.
