The second quarter was another low scoring result with Marc Robinson the city keeper making some outstanding saves with Tom Curwen bagging two goals to finish the first half at 4-4.

Into the third quarter, Lancaster manged to take the lead with goals through Scott Sharpe and two more goals from Robinson ending the third quarter with City having two goals in hand.

The final quarter started with City defending well but a couple of poor defensive decisions saw Cheltenham score some easy goals which put them in the lead.

With just 45 seconds left on the clock City were one down, after a time out Scott Sharpe bagged his second of the game to draw the game and come away with a point.

The second game of the weekend was against home team Northumbria whose team included current and former international players and Lancaster’s ex-captain Neil Bowers.

Lancaster started slowly and although they only conceded one through great defensive work from Robert Simpson and Ryan Pinington they missed several clear cut opportunities to take the game away from Northumbria in the early stages ending the first quarter only 2-1 ahead through Sharpe and Curwen.

The second and third quarters saw Lancaster wake up and show their opposition their ability in front of goal, winning the middle half of the game 9-4 with a mix of goals from six players including 16-year-old Aaron Mason to open up an 11-5
lead.

The final quarter saw goals go back and forth resulting in a final score of 13-8 to Lancaster and more importantly two points.

Lancaster now sit second in the league only one point behind leaders Manchester who they play in Cardiff on the November 21 and 22 league weekend.
