Chisnall hammered by Hamilton in world darts exit

MORECAMBE’S Dave Chisnall failed to reproduce the sparkling form that saw off Phil “The Power” Taylor as he was whitewashed 4-0 by Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton in the last 16 of the PDC World Darts Championship.

Chisnall was nowhere near his best as his Stoke-on-Trent opponent cruised to a comfortable victory in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Hamilton took the first set with Chisnall already looking edgy, missing crucial doubles and appearing to have not recovered from his dramatic win over Taylor on Tuesday night.

‘‘Chizzy Rascal’ had his chances in set two after checking out with an inspired 127 to lead 2-1 in legs, but missed a shot at double top to win the set.

The Potteries man soon levelled in legs and then checked out with 120 to take a two sets lead.

“The Hammer” then dominated set three with the out-of-sorts Chisnall unable to reproduce anywhere near the high scoring of his second round 4-1 win over 15-times World Champion Taylor.

Hamilton rarely missed a double and easily took the fourth and final set despite one final defiant maximum from Chisnall.
