With five minutes of the half to go Jason Short powered through to score a try to make it 17-0 at half-time.

Sedgley took the game to Carnforth in the opening exchanges of the second half and following John Greenland’s walk to the sin bin the visitors took advantage of the extra man as they were able to register a deserved try which was also converted.

Sedgley again went on the attack but Carnforth broke down the pitch and when Shane Weed gave the final ball it was full back Short who stepped back inside to score his 13th try of the season, also converting for a 24-7 lead.

Lowrie then received a yellow card which gave Park hope as they camped up in the Carnforth 22.

The last few minutes saw a sixth try registered, skipper Blenkharn took the ball down the field before the supporting Hones received the final pass, went down the wing and cut back to score under the posts to allow Short to convert for a 36 - 7 victory and four more vital league points.
