This added to the two Junior Novice titles the club has already claimed this season puts the club at the top of the North West region.

All six of the senior boxers will now progress to the national knockout stages of the competition where they will test their class against boxers from Tyne, Tees and Wear in the next round in
mid-October.

Meanwhile, Lewis Marshall, 15k, took another giant step towards a gold medal and national glory on Saturday, boxing in the National Junior Championship semi-finals.

Lewis was facing a tough durable opponent from Empire ABC of the East Midlands.

Lewis started the bout at a fast pace and controlled the first round and the second round saw Lewis again dominate, his all-action approach too much for his opponent to cope with.

In the third, although
Marshall started to tire due to the pace he had set, he was still too savvy for the Empire boxer who started to throw wild shots out of frustration but was still unable to land any telling blows.

At the end of the bout Lewis had his hand raised as unanimous winner and now goes on to box in the final in two weeks in Rotherham.
