Fury-Klitschko rematch set for October 29?
Tyson Fury has claimed his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko is set to be rescheduled for October 29.
Morecambe’s WBO and WBA heavyweight champion was previously in line to make the first defence of his titles on Saturday, July 9, at the Manchester Arena, until an ankle injury forced the fight’s postponement.
Shortly after that development, the Sunday Mirror reported he was the subject of a doping investigation - an allegation Fury furiously denied in a statement.
October had long been discussed as a potential new date, and posting a picture in which the 27-year-old looked to be in impressive condition, he wrote on Twitter: “Sixteen weeks Saturday ‘till I blast Klitschko spark out.
“#Andstill! Can’t wait #manchesteroctober29 #letshaveit.”
The fight is still expected to take place at the Manchester Arena.
