BIG FIGHT COUNTDOWN: No more Batman, says Tyson Fury

The Morecambe giant shocked the Ukrainian champion, fans and the world’s media by dressing up as batman at a London press conference back in September.

Fight week is set to be a big event in Dusseldorf, Germany ahead of the clash for the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO titles but Fury, often a man who courts controversy, says the time for talking is over.

The 27-year-old, 24-0 as a professional, said: “It was just an idea I had and I needed a big stage for it.

“I didn’t do it to get into anyone’s mind at all it was just a bit of entertainment for the fans and the people who were watching.

“I think all the fooling around has been done now though.

“It’s about getting in there for the fight. What will be, will be.”

The colourful press conference came just 24 hours prior to Klitschko postponing the fight due a calf injury.

Fury insists it is a delay that played into his hands.

He said: “I wasn’t feeling too good at the time, I had the flu.

“Obviously I didn’t tell Klitschko that and just put on plenty of bravado.

“I was full of confidence and it sort of spooked him a bit. That’s why he cancelled the fight.

“He thought ‘he must be in the shape of his life and on form’. And when that’s happening on high level fights they try and scupper you and cancel and reschedule but it hasn’t worked.”

The fight, originally scheduled for October 24, is now set for November 28 live on Sky Sports Box Office.
