On November 29 we went to watch the production of White Christmas performed by the Lancaster Red Rose Amateur Society.
We would like to praise all of the people who took part in the show. Every person was worth a praise and the main characters were excellent – good singing, acting and dancing. They must have worked hard to learn it all.
The helpers on stage were efficient changing items in the dark which is important. Well done to everyone.
The company chose the right venue for the show. The Winter Gardens has always had good acoustics.
Yes it was cold and the hard working committee of the Friends of the Winter Gardens have done so much work to keep it open.
There is still a lot to do and I wish them well. It is a pity the Government can’t help them financially instead of giving so much of our money to other countries. Charity begins at home so they say but they don’t do it.
It was good to see the elderly were wrapped in blankets to keep warm because the Friends of the Winter Gardens Committee can’t afford to put heating in yet.
The team were well organised serving hot drinks and other refreshments. Well done to all of you for your hard work.
Once again to the Red Rose Company well done. Glad to support you all. Your show was worthy of it to be produced in a London theatre.
