May I make the following brief comments in response to the letter from M Pidd about the leaflet from the local MP (Not just one man’s work, September 9).
In fairness to the MP, I feel he can rightly claim credit for securing the funding and the decisive go-ahead for the link road – as he pledged to do.
I cannot comment about the “half a billion investment”, but I do not believe any designer-left candidate from outer space could have achieved more for Morecambe.
As for the spelling mistakes, I noted three minor and obvious printing errors in this leaflet, but the sneering remark about this seems to me unworthy.
Furthermore, Mr Morris did not say that he has “organised Virgin Trains to stop at Carnforth”. Before criticising the verbal competence of others, people should perhaps teach themselves to read more accurately.
