Regarding the picture of the Fishermen’s Choir of the old Clarence Street Church (Fishing crews on song 110 years ago, Looking Back, December 2), also known as the Fishermen’s Church of many years ago.

One person in the choir was a relative of my mother. She was born Margaret Mayor – the relative is Dick Mayor.

My mother’s father and grandfather were also shrimp fishermen – John Mayor and James Mayor. Dick Mayor, of course, would have been born Richard Mayor.

My mother was born in one of the old cottages, at 32 Bridge Road. I have a copy of the one pictured taken out of the newspaper quite a long time ago.
