Re article ‘Anti Social Behavior’ Let Youngsters Play.

I totally agree with Janet Ord that ‘youngsters are just playing’.

I live on Essington Avenue, just round the corner from you.

In 2008 the access from my street onto Essington Playing Field was closed off by Lancaster City Council to stop so-called anti-social behaviour, however I live within a few metres from where the access was and I had never seen or heard of any anti-social behaviour.

We, too, regularly saw boys carrying their own football nets to the field until the access from Essington closed and I now read with utter disbelief that the council have closed another field to our children.

Where are they supposed to play, on the road perhaps?

Please Lancaster City Council
stop closing off our play areas and
allow our children to use them for the purpose they were intended ‘playing’ and let our children to enjoy their childhood.
