Everyone is so generous

On behalf of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal I would like to pass on kindest regards to everyone who purchased poppies, wreaths or simply made a donation to the 2014 Poppy Appeal.

Even though there was some distribution problems right up until the day, the Morecambe, Heysham and Carnforth area managed to raise a fantastic £20,911.50.

Thanks have to go to the volunteers who use their own time to staff the static stands in the shopping centres and also to the ‘pressed’ volunteers, the Army, Sea and Air Cadets, who walk the streets in all weathers. Well done.

The Remembrance Day parade saw a massive turnout with increased numbers yet again.

Due to the numbers attending the Cenotaph each year, talks have commenced with Morecambe Town Council to see if the area surrounding the monument could be enlarged to accommodate everyone. Hope so.

Thank you all and God bless.
