I agree wholeheartedly with Cath Southgate’s letter (State of our streets, February 17) regarding the state of our streets and dog mess.
I live in the Langdale Road/South Road area of Morecambe, which is a mecca for dog walkers as we have grass verges, and although the majority of dog owners clean up after their animals the mess around here is unbelievable.
Not only that, we even have the idiots who actually do pick the mess up, but then drop the bags, leaving them to become squished. Why go to all the bother of picking it up but then leave the bag for someone else to clear up – which doesn’t happen?
It is a shame people can’t be more responsible for their actions, and try to take pride in their surroundings – it isn’t always down to the local authorities to be cleaning up after us all the time.
