Harvey’s of Hest Bank is working with The Naked Skincare Company to deliver their luxury hot towel shaves and to stock their shelves with an assortment of products.

This makes Harvey’s the first barbers in the region to offer exclusive natural, eco-friendly and locally made products as part of their routine treatments.

Husband and wife Ben and Fiona Dalton opened the barbers’ doors in August this year.

With 10 years of barbering experience between them and prestigious courses in cut throat shaving and facial waxing completed, Ben was determined to open a salon that would cater to the discerning gentleman and offer more than the standard haircut and trim.

Ben wanted to offer natural products as part of this as standard, as he feels that they are kinder to skin and the environment.

Supporting a local business was also a key part of this choice.

Ben said: “I feel it’s really important to take care of what we put on our skin and our bodies. A cut throat shave needs to get very close to the skin and if the right products are not used, this can leave the skin feeling a bit sensitive.

“I’ve use The Naked Skincare Company products myself and know they work really well, so was very excited to incorporate them into our barbers.

“They really prepare the skin for a close shave and treat it afterwards, and they are made locally.”

The Naked Skincare Company is run by Stephanie Maffia at the White Cross Business Park in Lancaster.

They have developed their own range of award-winning natural unisex skin care, bath products and candles, and like to supply independent retailers in addition to selling on their own website.

Stephanie said: “It’s been great working with Ben and Fiona, not only because we get to see our products in action, and we love that natural skincare is becoming available to more and more people, but also because we get to support another local independent business.

“This is really important to us as supporting local businesses boosts our economy, supports those with really great business ideas, and helps to make the area a vibrant place to be.”
