World boxing champ Tyson Fury meets kids at special school Christmas fair

Parents and children were delighted when a surprise visitor popped in to their Christmas fair – the heavyweight champion of the world.

Boxing star Tyson Fury turned up at the Morecambe Road School fair on Thursday afternoon with his whippet dog and posed for photos.

Parent Diana Heyes said: “A member of staff, Mrs Weldon, bumped into him yesterday and asked him if he’d pop in, and he did.”

Another parent wrote on Facebook: “He was really nice taking the time to talk to a lot of the children and posing for photos, signing autographs, was there quite a while and made the children very happy indeed.”

Morecambe Road School is a day special school for pupils with a range of special educational needs, learning difficulties and social, emotional and behavioural issues.

The fair helps fund the school minibuses and other activities.
