Woman trapped in car after Morecambe crash

Emergency services raced to the scene of a crash in the West End of Morecambe.

A woman was trapped in a car after a crash in the West End on Monday lunchtime.

A police spokesman said a woman was trapped in a vehicle after the collision on the junction of Westminster Road and Alexandra Road.

There were no details of any injuries.

The collision was between a Mitsubishi and a Citroen Xsara Picasso.

Police were called to the incident just before 1pm on Monday.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said police called them out to the scene.

Two fire engines from Morecambe went out and crews were trying to free the woman passenger.

There were no reports of fire or smoke from the vehicles.

There was heavy traffic in the area following the crash.
