Woman injured following Lancaster road collision

A 77-year-old woman has suffered a broken hip after being hit by a van yesterday afternoon.

The woman was crossing King Street near to the junction with Queen Street at around 5.25pm, when a collision occurred between her and a silver Ford Transit van.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

T/PS Adam Dawson from the Lancaster Road Policing Team said: “The driver of the van is assisting us with our investigation but we need any witnesses who may have seen what happened to get in touch with us so we can establish exactly why this collision has occurred.”

The woman was admitted to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary were her condition is described as stable.
