Lancaster Canal has been transformed just in time for Christmas by the inimitable style of Chas Jacobs, right.
The popular artist has painted a special map of the canal towpath from the Water Witch pub to the Lune Aqueduct.
Now Visitor readers have the chance to win a limited edition signed copy of Chas’ new work in our special competition.
And what a fantastic present this would make for a loved one this Christmas.
Chas produced the Lancaster Canal Map after being commissioned by British Waterways (now the Canal and River Trust).
“I have worked in several local primary schools and Beaumont College on art workshops connected to the canal project.” said Chas.
“The children have designed roundal markers, which will be placed along the canal towpath in the not too distant future, which will tie in with the interpretive map.” To have a chance of winning the Chas Jacobs map of Lancaster Canal, simply answer this question. Which Lancaster pub is featured in Chas Jacobs’ map of the canal towpath?
Write your answer on a piece of paper or postcard, include your name, address and daytime telephone number, and send it to Chas Jacobs Competition, Editorial, The Visitor, 12 Victoria Street, Morecambe, Lancashire, LA4 4AG.
The closing date is Tuesday, December 18. The winner will be notified by telephone. Only one entry per household will be accepted.
*CHAS will not be hosting his annual Christmas exhibition at the Ashton Memorial this year.
Instead all his prints, canvases and Christmas cards are available from his website www.chasjacobs.co.uk .
He also has a new Facebook page containing all his latest work and news.
