More than 20 children from West End Primary School are set to put the fun back into dinnertimes after completing Young Leader Award training delivered by Lancaster City Council.
The pupils undertook the 10-hour course which is designed to help young children aged from nine to 13 deliver structured activities to younger children within their school.
The children who passed the award now have the opportunity to implement their new-found skills by organising, planning and delivering games and activities for pupils of years 1, 2 and 3 during their lunch break.
The course is approved by Sports Leaders UK and all the children that completed the training received a certificate.
Any schools wanting more information on how their pupils can benefit from the award should contact the council on 01524 582778.
