WATCH: Election 2015 - Our Great Debate with Morecambe and Lunesdale election candidates

Morecambe and Lunesdale’s prospective parliamentary candidates have been debating the big issues in a debate at The Visitor and Lancaster Guardian office.

All candidates were invited with Conservative Party candidate David Morris, Phil Chandler from the Green Party and the Liberal Democrats’ Matthew Severn tackling questions submitted by readers.

The seat will also be contested by Labour’s Amina Lone, UKIP’s Steven Ogden and the Northern Party’s Michael Dawson who were unable to attend.

*Liberal Democrat Candidate Matt Severn: “I love this area. I want to give something back to it. I want to see funding coming in. I want to fight for family values.”

*Green candidate Phil Chandler: “David Morris is out of touch with people in this area.”

The candidates also discussed issues such as the current housing situation, the gap between the rich and the poor, zero hours contracts, the economy, the NHS, the current benefits system and fracking.

As many questions as possible submitted by readers that were not asked during the debate will be forwarded on to candidates and answered at a later date.
