Morecambe’s annual Catch the Wind kite festival lifted the spirits of thousands of people at the weekend.
On a particularly gusty day professional and amateur kite enthusiasts flocked to the beach next to the Midland Hotel creating a colourful spectacle.
The festival, organised by More Music, boasted a wide variety of attractions including music, arts activities, crafts, circus skills, street theatre and stalls.
It also featured a gig by the acclaimed New Rope String Band at the Devonshire Hall in The Hothouse on Saturday night.
More Music’s street band, Baybeat, premiered lively new tunes, vibrant costumes and colourful flags to a large crowd on the promenade on Sunday afternoon.
The charity’s next events will be the West End Festival at Regent Park on July 20 and the One Man Band Shebang on Morecambe promenade on July 21.
