Rubbish being tossed over a railway bridge is causing an environmental hazard, says a member of the public.
More and more rubbish has been collecting on the embankment under the bridge on Euston Grove in Morecambe over the past few months. The man, who does not wish to be named, said: “It’s a disgrace .”
Coun David Smith, Cabinet member with responsibility for environmental services, said: “On this occasion, it is the responsibility of the owner of the land to ensure it is free from litter. The accumulation of litter in this public area is at an unacceptable level. The council will clean up the land and the owner will be charged for the service.”
