UPDATE: Children involved in collision outside Westgate Primary School

Eight people were involved in a collision outside a Morecambe Primary School this morning.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance said: “Three children were involved in the collision, one of the children had pain to the knee but were discharged at the scene.

“Two people were taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary.”

Police responded to reports of a five car crash on Langridge Way just after 8.30am this morning (Monday April 16).

North West Ambulance and Air Ambulance were also in attendance and arrived just after 8.39am.

Sergeant Adie Knowles, of Morecambe Police, said: “We received reports of a multiple vehicle crash this morning.

“Eight people were involved, all had minor injuries, luckily no children were injured.

“We would like to thank parents and everyone who came forward with information.

“Enquiries are still ongoing but if anyone would like to get in touch with us regarding the incident then please call us on 01524 596985.”

The road is now clear after diversions were put in place.
