University of Cumbria is open for business

As a result of the floods, the university had to suspend on-campus teaching at its Lancaster and Carlisle campuses whereas teaching continues as normal at other sites.

The university is still very much open for business and scheduled activities have already resumed.

On Tuesday December 15, the university is determined to spread a little Christmas cheer to its gold schools and colleges by presenting them with mince pies and a Christmas card by way of thanks for encouraging students to consider higher education.

In just one day, the university’s schools and college liaison team will play Santa Claus visiting 102 schools across Cumbria, north Lancashire and a handful in the north east to share information about how the university can offer support to get pupils interested in higher education.

A number of interview days are going ahead next week at the Fusehill Street campus, Carlisle.

Social work and health interviews are scheduled for Wednesday 16 December and interviews for QTS, under graduate and PGCE teaching programmes, Thursday December 17.

All applicants invited to one of these interviews are being contacted directly to reassure them they are still going ahead.

In advance of the UCAS application deadline on Friday January 15, any potential applicants can access support by contacting our course enquiry centre.

The next open days are Tuesday January 12 at the Lancaster campus and Wednesday January 13 at Fusehill Street, Carlisle.
