The towpath between Lune Aqueduct and Lansil Footbridge will remain closed until completion of the work on May 22 2020.

Graham Ramsden, senior project manager at Canal & River Trust said: “We apologise for the disruption the closure of the towpath may bring to you, but I am sure you can understand why we have to further isolate the workers to enable them to complete these critical works.

“As the piling works come to a conclusion at Halton road over the next couple of weeks, we will re-open the towpath from Halton Road Bridge over Lune Aqueduct, to the steps only, so if you are on a bike or have a pram please think about your route.
