Most famous faces wouldn’t take too kindly to their mobile phone number being posted online.
But not boxer Tyson Fury, with the colourful heavyweight electing to spend some downtime ahead of his shot at the world heavyweight title taking calls from fans.
The Morecambe-based giant’s personal number appeared on Twitter in a picture posted by his wife Paris.
And after he started receiving calls as followers tested to see if the number was genuine, Fury actively encouraged people to get in touch as he chewed the fat on a wide range of topics on Thursday, Friday and Monday afternoons.
An often controversial figure, Fury even invited his social media followers to join him on a training run along Morecambe Promenade on Friday afternoon.
Fury tweeted: “I have the best fans in the world.
“Loving the phone calls. Keep trying and you’ll get through.”
The unbeaten British champion is waiting for news on his long-awaited shot at heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko.
Promoter Frank Warren is optimistic the fight can happen in the UK with Old Trafford and Wembley talked about as possible venues for a fight which is expected to take place in September or October.
