TV’s Fern enjoys coffee break in village hall

TV presenter Fern Britton had a pit stop at Yealand village hall during a cycle ride from John o’Groats to Land’s End.

A group of 30 ladies and one man popped into the Coffee Stop for refreshments on Monday, much to the delight of cafe owner Jacqueline Lloyd.

Jackie said: “They all called in for coffee and a cake because they happened to see our sign.

“They all piled in around 10.30am and stayed for an hour. She (Fern) was lovely and we had a chat with all of them.It just came out of the blue.”

Fern and her her team are cycling 1000 miles over 21 days to raise money for the Genesis Research Trust to end miscarriage.
