Shaun Higgins, LRGS.

LRGS has paid tribute to the popular boys grammar school teacher who taught at the school for a number of years.

A governor said: “I have always had a great deal of respect for Shaun as an inspirational teacher and coach – a foundation stone at LRGS and a great loss.”

A statement from the school said: “Mr Higgins had been ill for some time and at present is not know when his funeral will take place. He was an Old Lancastrian from 1958-1966 and a highly dedicated teacher and sportsman from 1970 until his retirement in 2012.”

A more detailed tribute to Mr Higgins will follow.
