FRIENDS have paid tribute to a Lancaster & Morecambe College student who was found dead on the railway line at Carnforth.

Dozens of Facebook messages have been left paying respects to Alan Woods, 17, who is believed to have been hit by a train on Saturday morning.

Friends called him “an absolute legend”, “an amazing man”, “one of the most respected and loved people I will ever know” and “the nicest guy (you) could ever meet, always had a smile and always having fun”.

A train driver discovered Mr Woods’ body by the tracks close to Carnforth railway station on Saturday and raised the alarm at around 6.50am.

British Transport Police (BTP) said they were treating the death as unexplained but there were no suspicious circumstances and nobody else was involved.
