Winners were announced in 14 categories during the ceremony with individual staff members and teams from the RLI taking home three of the top awards, including: ‘Star of the Year’, ‘Learner of the Year’ and ‘Registered professional of the Year.’ Jackie Daniel, UHMBT’s chief executive, said: “It’s important that we stop and pay tribute to those we work with and say thank you and formally recognise the achievements of all our staff, governors, volunteers and fundraisers.

“What makes these awards so special is that they are nominated by patients, members of the public and work colleagues. That in itself is a great accolade for the work that goes on every day, right across our hospitals.

“We’d like to thank everyone who attended the awards ceremony and also those finalists that couldn’t make it. They are a real credit to the trust and we can’t thank them enough for all they do. We hope these awards make them feel proud for playing their part in the future of our hospitals.

“Well done to everyone who was nominated, regardless of whether or not they received the winner’s award – all very much deserved.”
