Thug told mum and daughter he would kill them in Morecambe caravan attack

Adrian Feather, 27, has been jailed for six years after a judge said he was a danger offender who is predisposed to violence towards women.

In May this year, Feather was staying at the Venture Caravan Park in Westgate when he threatened the woman with a knife, saying he would kill her and her daughter and chop them up.

He punched the woman to the ground and kicked and stamped on her as her young daughter screamed in terror.

Preston Crown Court heard at the time of the attack, Feather was on licence from a six and a half year sentence for a vicious attack on two lesbian women in Keighley, in which he punched, kicked and stamped on the women, while he was drunk.

In 2011 he escaped from prison and made threats to the mother of his child.

Judge Heather Lloyd, sentencing, said: “What a fine example of manhood you are to your own daughter.

“When you threatened and assaulted this woman it was a sustained and repeated assault on her in the confined space of a caravan.

“You pulled her hair, kicked her and punched her repeatedly to her face as she lay defenceless on the floor.

“Every time she tried to get up she was struck to the head and face area.

“Her daughter was screaming.

“You picked up a knife from the kitchen; you threatened to slit both of their throats. To make the child the first victim to watch her mother die and to cut them up.

“You repeatedly kicked and stamped on her when she was once again on the floor.

“Once she fled for help with her child you followed her, trying to make it look like someone else was responsible for her injuries.”

The woman was left with a broken finger and bruises and swelling to her face following the terrifying ordeal.

Judge Lloyd said: “You left the scene yourself and checked into a nearby hotel. “You weren’t so drunk you could not make these decisions - you were in control.

“I am told you are repentant. You may be now but you weren’t then.”

Feather pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of making threats to kill.

The court heard during his previous sentence Feather had completed alcohol, anger management and safer relationships courses and was coming towards the end of his licence when he attacked the woman in front of her daughter.

Judge Lloyd said: “I’m told the little girl is not showing any signs of distress from the ordeal she underwent but who knows what she will feel in the future?

“If it is correct that drink is a trigger for violence then despite all the warnings and the supervision on licence, it hasn’t taken much to slip back into your old ways.

“There is a serious risk of serious harm being caused by you.”

The judge handed Feather, of Bradford Road, Keighley, a six year sentence, with a four year custodial term and two year extended licence period.

She also revoked his previous licence and ordered him to serve three months consecutively for the breach.
