Teenagers questioned over shopping arcade blaze

Three teenagers have been detained following a blaze at a shopping centre in Lancaster.

The boys, a 19-year-old and two 15-year-olds from Lancaster, were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and are currently in custody.

Police launched an investigation after a fire at the St Nicholas Shopping Arcade on Lancastergate which started at around 8.40pm on Wednesday.

It occurred in the vicinity of the Poundland and Superdrug stores and is thought to have caused around £10,000 to £15,000 worth of damage to the building.

Officers appealed for information and the three were detained on Friday.
