Teen booze crackdown

UNDERAGE drinking and anti-social behaviour will be put under the spotlight in two areas.

New Community Alcohol Networks (CAN) will support local retailers and residents in Morecambe’s West End and in Carnforth as Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Constabulary clamp down on those selling or giving alcohol to children.

The 12-week long projects will include targeted police patrols in hotspot areas and Trading Standards officers speaking to local retailers to offer advice on the sale of alcohol. Officers will also be visiting schools to promote activities available for young people.
