Aspiring professionals raced around Morecambe and Lancaster trying to secure a ‘hot list’ of items for St. John’s Hospice in an apprentice inspired challenge.
The three teams from Allianz Lancaster, which includes Premierline Direct set off from Allianz House on Caton Road and had until just 5pm to be back in the boardroom with their stash.
Each team was provided with a copy of the ‘hot list’ which included iPods and docking stations, crockery, bed linen, gift vouchers for family days out, short breaks and day experiences, an A4 laminator, and much more.
Businesses in Lancaster and Morecambe opened up their doors and graciously gave goods above and beyond the list provided by St John’s Hospice.
The teams managed to get all but one item from the “hot list”, as well as many items that weren’t on the list but will be extremely useful to the hospice.
St John’s Hospice received over £4,692 in goods to use in the hospice or auction off at upcoming fundraising events.
Karen Crossley, community fundraiser at St Johns Hospice, said “Despite the challenging task, the dedication and enthusiasm shown by everyone is admirable.”
