Police said that at 3.15am on Tuesday, November 1, the 20-year-old victim was walking along Bulk Road when he was approached from behind by a man who punched him to the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

He was then kicked to the head and body while a second man took the victim’s mobile phone from his trouser pocket.

The victim suffered cuts and grazes and swelling to the side of his face as a result of the attack.

PC Jim Buddo of Lancaster Police said: “This was a nasty attack on the victim who was making his way home from a night out in the city. If anyone was in the vicinity at the time of the robbery and witnessed what happened or saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area I would urge them to get in touch.”

The first man was described as white and was wearing a dark navy hoodie with blue Adidas stripes.

The second man was also described as white and was wearing a black hoodie with white Adidas stripes.
