Salt Ayre Sports Centre will once again host the finals of England’s Strongest Man (under 90kg) later this month.
The competition will see 15 athletes battle it out for the title and a place at the televised Europe’s Strongest Man u90kg in Ireland.
Torrisholme strongman Shane Jerman will be launching his third assault on the title currently held by Arram Eghoyan.
Shane was placed third in 2011 and the 2nd last year so is looking to go one better this time round.
Shane and Arram most recently did battle in the World StrongFit Championships in Australia with Arram just pipping Shane to the title on the final event.
Shane said: “Arram is a great athlete and definitely has my number beating me in the World StrongFit Championships in Australia and at last year’s England’s Strongest Man, but I will do all I can to win this title.
“I aim to break the deadlift record and make sure I finish the day on top of the podium.”
This year there will be some new events including the keg toss and a gruelling medley ending with power stairs.
The event will take place in the Main Hall at Salt Ayre Sports Centre on Sunday, July 14 from 11.30am to 4pm. Spectators are welcome to attend this exciting event.
Admission costs £4 for adults and £1 for children.
