A PUBLIC funeral is to be held at the Globe Arena in Morecambe tomorrow afternoon (April 21) to which everyone is invited.
Anyone who would like to pay their last respects to Ken Parker, former chairman and life vice-president of Morecambe FC, is welcome to attend the service, which starts at 3.15pm.
Mr Parker, 68, was renowned as host of the club’s half-time prize draw Open the Box. He also owned the Cumberland View Garage dealership for many years and was a pioneering DJ in Morecambe.
Ken’s son, Ken Parker Jnr said his father, who died on April 9, would have liked “one last moment in the limelight”.
The service will be conducted by Ann Roberts, direct from the Globe Arena pitch, using the stadium’s PA system. There will be readings from family and close friends with music chosen by his family.
