The newest resident of the West End is a baby crocodile called Snuggles.
The tiny croc, a spectacled caiman, is on show in Reptile Haven on Alexandra Road.
Owner Adam Hill bought Snuggles from another shop in Blackpool and says: “He’s not for sale.
“He’s just a talking point for people to look at. It’s not every day you can get to see a crocodile.
“He eats locusts and just about anything up to the size of a fist.”
Spectacled caimans are mainly found in South and Central America and can grow to a length of nine feet.
The animal gets its name from the bony ridge between the fronts of its eyes, which appears to join them like a pair of glasses.
Adam said he might keep the crocodile when it becomes an adult and there are “safety measures in place”.
He said: “He is a bit snappy at the moment but it is possible to tame them.”
