Lancaster Green Spaces is awarding small grants to projects within the Lancaster local authority area.
The main aim of the grant scheme is to encourage greater public use and appreciation of public open spaces.
These must be accessible to all members of the public for at least 20 hours a week (so school grounds, allotments etc. are excluded unless they meet the public access criteria).
Projects should also build a sense of community ownership, pride and place, for local residents; enhance the land, for wildlife, food, beauty and safety; and build the capacity of both groups and of individual volunteers.
If you are a constituted group based within the Lancaster local authority district and have an idea for a project please look at the Lancaster Green Spaces website HYPERLINK “http://www.lancastergreenspaces.org.uk” www.lancastergreenspaces.org.uk or ring 01524 542742 for details.
The next deadline is September 1, 2013.
