A help and advice centre for the poor and vulnerable will close its doors after 20 years in a major blow for the West End of Morecambe.
Signposts, based on Regent Road, has announced it will shut on Friday, April 26 due to the impact of the recession.
Signposts. a charitable and voluntary organisation, works closely with elderly, disabled and under privileged people. It also has a base in Preston.
Sharon Calverley, director of operations and development at Signposts, said: “Our volunteers are immensely disappointed that the service is closing but have shown immense resilience and are keen to ensure our clients continue to receive the best possible service within the current circumstances.”
