PEOPLE in a poverty-hit African town are delighted with their brand new shirts donated by kind-hearted Morecambe football fans.
The shirts from teams including Liverpool, Manchester United and of course Morecambe are now being proudly worn by the people of Luanshya in Zambia.
Luanshya residents Sikombe Goodson and Angela Sukula recently returned home after living in Morecambe for several years.
Before they left, Sikombe and Angela, and their friend Cath Mahood of the Sandwich Emporium cafe on Victoria Street, held an appeal through The Visitor for football shirts to take back to Africa.
