SCHOOL DAYS: Newton County Primary School
Rosemary Abram (nee Hopkins) brought us in this photo of Newton County Primary School in 1953.
She is pictured in the front row, fifth from the right. The school was run from temporary prefabricated buildings next to the canal on Lancaster’s Newton estate. The headteacher was Miss Eccles and the teacher pictured was Miss Wilson.
