POLICE are appealing for information following a robbery at a convenience store in Morecambe last month.

The robbery took place at Simply Food on the corner of Bare Lane and South Road at around 8.45pm on Monday, March 19, when a man entered the shop with his face covered and demanded money from a lone female shop assistant.

She handed him money from the till and he then ran from the scene towards the level crossing.

DC Ian Wright from Lancaster CID said: “This is a serious offence and although no weapon was brandished, it is clear that the assistant was put in fear by the offender’s actions and she has been left very shaken by her ordeal.

“Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.”

The offender is described as being clean-shaven with short, dark brown wavy hair.

He was wearing a dark blue knitted collar length jumper and a grey knitted piece of clothing, possibly a woolly hat to cover his face.
