Radio host wins Lancashire tourism award
John ‘Gilly’ Gillmore picked up the prize at the Lancashire Tourism Awards at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. ‘Gilly’, who has been a radio presenter for 30 years, was chosen by the public in a vote organised by the Lancashire Evening Post.
He hosts an afternoon show on BBC Radio Lancashire and has also worked for The Bay during his career.

Hide AdThe new Morecambe Bay Cycle Way was also a winner on the night, picking up the Visitor Experience Award.
The Bay Cycle Way was launched in June 2015 and has encouraged thousands of people get out on their bikes to explore the stunning coastline of Morecambe Bay.
Bay View Holiday Park at Carnforth, the Midland Hotel, Carnforth Station, Leighton Hall, Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor Information Centres, Aspect Bar and Bistro in Morecambe, The Dukes’ Williamson Park show were also nominated for awards.
