Punk festival could receive grant cash

The organisers of the Nice ‘n’ Sleazy festival had submitted a business plan to Morecambe Town Council and applied for £4,000 funding for 2015.

But councillors originally said the business plan was not viable and asked for more details to be put forward.

The revised plan will now be considered by the council’s Festival and Events committee, with the possibility that if it is accepted, funding can be given.

Ashworth said: “The decisions for the festival funding have been a long drawn out process but we can agree to move forward the programme of festivals and events for 2015.”
