Power cut hits 500 properties in Morecambe

An underground cable fault has caused a power cut to almost 500 Morecambe homes and businesses.

Power went off at around 2.37pm on Thursday affecting Christie Avenue, Benson Avenue, Eastgate, Middlegate and Northgate.

Engineers from Electricity North West were on site and restored power to 372 of the 482 affected properties by 3.25pm.

A spokesman said they hoped to have everyone back on by 5pm.
