Police probe complaint about Morecambe Town Council

The town council said they had not been contacted by police over the matter.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said they had “received a document alleging financial misconduct at Morecambe Town Council”.

The spokesman said police were “now in the process of evaluating and assessing its content”.

Coun Darren Clifford, chairman of Morecambe Town Council, said: “The town council is not aware of any complaint being made to the police and has received no contact from Lancashire Constabulary and therefore it would be inappropriate to make any comment.”
