John Bishop, Suggs, Russell Kane, Sean Lock and now Phill Jupitus.
Does the Lancaster Grand Theatre have the best entertainment programme in the North West?
Rival theatres certainly seem a little envious, according to Grand Theatre manager Ellie Singleton.
“They ring us up and some say we’re starting to get close to the level of Manchester,” said Ellie.
“Promoters also tell us that we’re standing out.
“We’re having a great year. All the top names we’re getting are selling out. Russell Kane has said he’s coming back for two dates in 2014. Noddy Holder wants to come and we can’t fit him in!”
But Ellie says she has managed to secure the services of a REALLY big name. Look out for more details in next week’s Visitor.
In the meantime, tickets have gone on sale for Phill Jupitus’ first ever gig at the Lancaster Grand, on Sunday, May 19 at 8pm.
The Never Mind the Buzzcocks star’s show ‘You’re Probably Wondering Why I’ve Asked You Here...’ is coming off a successful run during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012.
Phill plays the part of three extraordinary characters and with the help of an inquisitive audience, we find out more about them.
The Scotsman said: “This show is a huge amount of fun and an impressive display of Jupitus’ skills.”
Tickets cost £15.
