Ken Allen Auto Wreckers deals with car parts, scrapping cars and sales, and is well known around the district as people's go-to for any help they need fixing or scrapping their vehicles.

The family-run business was founded in 1968.

Numerous people have paid tribute on Facebook to a man said to be 'iconic'.

Sharon Dance said: "RIP Ken Allen, our thoughts are with his family at this time. I think, when we know the funeral date, we can stand on the street and give him a clap on his journey to church, any old wheel trims to clatter together would be good too xxx"

Mary Stretch wrote: "A very quiet and kind man who helped everyone keep the car on the road. He dug deep when supported fundraising, sadly we can't show our support of such a wonderful person known to so many as King Kenny, a very fitting title. Thoughts are with you the family at his passing."
